BOBBY JAY HARDY

June 15, 1955-Jan. 3, 2016

Bobby Jay Hardy, 60, Goldsboro, passed away suddenly Sunday, Jan. 3, 2016, at his home.

Bobby was born in Nash County June 15, 1955, to the late Jesse Earl "Jay" Hardy and Barbara Spivey Hardy.

He worked with his brothers in the family business, J. Hardy Tile, where he was serving as president. Bobby was a hardworking man, which was the theme of his life; he lived to work.

Bobby had a huge heart, always giving and reaching out to others; there wasn't a stranger he hadn't met.

He loved to make people laugh. Most would remember the joy that Bobby's presence would bring.

Most important to Bobby was his family. Bobby worked so hard to make sure his wife and daughters were well taken care of. He was the best daddy, who will be truly missed.

A service celebrating Bobby's life will be held Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Dr. Don Sauls officiating.

The family will greet friends immediately following the service at the funeral home and other times at his home.

Interment will be in Pikeville Cemetery.

Bobby is survived by his wife of 35 years, Elizabeth "Liz" Driver Hardy; daughters, Liza Henderson and husband, Jeff, Lacie Jae Hardy and Mary Beth Hardy all of Goldsboro; sister, Tammy Devarona and husband, Jose, of Pikeville; brothers, Phil Hardy and wife, Margaret, of Goldsboro and Steve Hardy and Barbara of Pikeville; and the apple of his eye, his grandson, Aiden J. Henderson.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given to the Ronald McDonald House, 529 Moye Blvd., Greenville, N.C., 27834, or Renu Life, 501 Forest Hill Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
