RUTH BROWER STANCIL

Ruth Brower Stancil, 96, Goldsboro, passed away Monday, Jan. 4, 2016, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Ruth was born in Nash County Aug. 31, 1919, to the late Alfred Benjamin Brower and Cleo Jackson Brower. She was married to the late Frank Burgess Stancil.
Ruth was a retired administrative assistant with Borden Manufacturing Co.
She was a graduate of Strayer University, and was past president of the American Business Women's Association.
Ruth was a former member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church and Grace Baptist Church, and currently a member of Autryville Baptist Church.
A service celebrating Ruth's life will be held by the graveside Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2016, at 2 p.m. in Pineview Cemetery in Rocky Mount, N.C.
Ruth is survived by her son, Michael Stancil and wife, Gloria, of Autryville; daughters, Sheila Howell and husband, Wayne, of Memphis, Tenn., and Sandra Robbins of Wilson; grandchildren, Karen Downer of Grantham, Jodie Creech of Smithfield, Jeff Britt of Cary, Scott Blackman of Clarksville, Tenn., Shay Sepko of Piperton, Tenn., Brenda Calkins of Alabama and Crystal Ammons of Cary; and 10 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Patricia Britt.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
