LESLIE HOWARD JACKSON

Leslie Howard Jackson, 84, Kinston, surrounded by his precious angels, went home to be with his Lord and savior Monday, Sept. 21, 2015, at Kitty Askins in Goldsboro.

Leslie was born Oct. 23, 1931, to the late Pennie Gautier Jackson and William Frank Jackson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Virgie S. Jackson, and brothers, Ottis Jackson, James Jackson and Kenneth Jackson.

He retired from the city of Kinston.

Survivors include his sisters, Linda and Robbie Quinn of Warsaw and Shirley Mills and Brenda Scott both of Goldsboro; brothers, Gene and Jessie Jackson of Snow Hill, Gerald Jackson of Mount Olive and Joseph and Barbara Jackson of Texas; and two special caregivers, who became as close as sisters, Vera and Debbie Hair.

A special thank you to his girls and the staff at Kitty Askins Hospice Center for making Leslie's last days on earth peaceful.

Funeral services will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 24, 2015, at Howard-Carter Funeral Home, with chaplain Joel Kettner officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 25, 2015, at Pinelawn Memorial Park.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Circle, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534, or Continuum Home Care and Hospice, 704M Plaza Blvd., Kinston, N.C., 28501.
