ROBERT MEWBORN SR.

Robert Mewborn Sr., 74, son of the late Elijah and Macie Kornegay Mewborn, was born Feb. 4, 1941, in the Jason community of Green County, N.C. He died Sunday at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Robert is survived by his children, Robert (Bridget) Mewborn Jr. of Colorado Springs, Colo., Vincent (Jory) Mewborn Sr., Tangella (Curtis) Young Jr., Angella Bronson and Joyce Mewborn all of Anchorage, Alaska; 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three brothers; two sisters; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11 a.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., with minister Lamont Brewington officiating. Interment will follow at Willowdale Cemetery, 306 E. Elm St., Goldsboro.
A public visitation will be held Friday from 2 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Hamilton Funeral Chapel is serving the family.
