KIMBERLY BROWN BROWN

April 22, 1963-July 15, 2015

Kimberly Brown Brown, 52, Sanford, N.C., died Wednesday, July 15, 2015, at FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital following a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born in Wayne County, N.C., April 22, 1963, to James Harold Brown and Helen Winders Brown Lancaster.

Her father preceded her in death.

Kim was raised in Goldsboro, and attended Wayne Community College, and graduated from Campbell University.

She worked 10 years in the Harnett County School system and 16 years at Deep River Elementary in Lee County as the certified music teacher.

Kim's love of singing spread into the community. She loved to sing at the Enrichment Center, Carolina Trace County Club, weddings and many other events.

Kim won the "Lee County Idol" competition, and the Deep River Elementary River Tones, under her direction, won the WRAL 101.5 Christmas Chorus competition.

She is survived by her husband, Perry Daniel Brown; mother, Helen Brown Lancaster and husband, Lee, of Goldsboro, N.C.; brother, Gregg Brown of Goldsboro; and two stepsiblings, Gordon Lancaster and wife, Terry, and Debbie Howell and husband, Jay.

The family will receive friends Sunday, July 19, 2015, in the fellowship hall of Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church from 6 to 8 p.m.

The funeral service will be Monday, July 20, at 2 p.m. also at Jonesboro Heights Baptist Church, with Dr. Kevin Meadows and the Rev. Thomas Bounds officiating. Burial will follow at Antioch Baptist Church in Mamers.
