Mary Valentene Barfield, 86, Calypso, died Friday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
The funeral will be held at noon Wednesday at Mt. Gilead Missionary Baptist Church, 2591 Beautancus Road, Mount Olive.
The burial will be in Carver Cemetery.
The viewing will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Garris Funeral Home Chapel with the family being present from 6 to 7 p.m.
She was born in Nash County.
She was the daughter of the late Moddie and Nancy Deans Ricks and the wife of the late Milford Barfield Sr.
She is survived by three children.
