Billy Gene Britt, 68, died Friday evening at Duke University Medical Center in Durham.
Born in Johnston County, he resided in Goldsboro, and was the husband of Jo Ann Britt.
Funeral services will be held Monday evening at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with pastor Michael Coppock officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home.
Burial will be Tuesday morning at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Billy was a longtime member of Brogden United Methodist Church. He had served the church as trustee chairman, and had been a past member of Goldsboro Moose Lodge.
In addition to his wife, Billy is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Beth and Mike Holmes of Princeton; two grandchildren, Michael and Heather Holmes of Goldsboro; and a great-grandchild, Trey Faircloth.
