RICHARD LEE TOUVE

July 10, 1939-March 12, 2015

On Thursday, March 12, 2015, Richard Lee Touve, 75, passed away at home with his wife at his side.

Richard was born July 10, 1939 to Mabel and Arnold Touve in Port Wing, Wisconsin. At the age of 13, he moved to Chicago, and after high school attended the University of Illinois at Chicago, completing his studies at DePaul University. Richard started his career with Kendall Corporation in Chicago, and after many corporate positions and new locations progressed to President and General Manager of AP Parts in Goldsboro, where he retired in 1998.

Upon retirement, he served as treasurer, was active in the church choir, and served on various committees at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Richard proudly served his country in the United States Army.

Richard is survived by his wife of 52 years, Karen Diane Touve (Henschel); their two children and spouses, David Touve, married to Laura Good, and Michelle Touve-Holland, married to David Holland; and three granddaughters: Madison Lee Touve-Streby, Alena Touve and Olive Holland. Richard is also survived by his sister, Janet Smucker and her husband, Donald, and sister-in-law, Vivian, the wife of his brother, James Touve. He is preceded in death by his mother, father and his brother, James.

The family would like to thank the Southeastern Medical Oncology Center, the Emergency Medical Services, the Goldsboro Police Department and Pastor William Ordelt for all of their help and support.

A memorial service will be held Sat., March 21, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 532 Country Day Road in Goldsboro, N.C. Officiating the service will be the Rev. William Ordelt. The family will receive friends Saturday following the service in the fellowship hall.
