Rita Simmons Diaz, 60, Kenansville, died Thursday at Vidant Duplin Hospital.
Funeral will be today at 2 p.m. in Community Funeral Home chapel. Burial will be in Pinecrest Cemetery.
She was born June 13, 1954, in Sampson County to Edna Pope Simmons and the late Furney McKenneth Simmons.
She is survived by a son and two daughters.
