MARY FRANCES CHASE SAULS

June 30, 1921-March 2, 2015

March 2, 2015, Mary Frances Chase Sauls, known to those who loved her as Miss Frances, mother, momma or granny, went to be with Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

She was in her home surrounded by those who loved her.

She was 93 years old.

Frances was born in Greene County June 30, 1921, to the late Ernest and Stella Chase.

Her life was filled with humility, kindness and love for others that she displayed in many ways.

She was a very hard-working lady, and expected others to work hard as well.

She enjoyed quilting, sewing, working in her garden and canning, and cooked the best collards in Eastern North Carolina.

She loved serving the Lord and reading her Bible.

She was a dedicated member of Mount Nelson Baptist Church, where she taught the Ruth Timby Sunday school class for more than 70 years.

A celebration of her life service will be held Wednesday, March 4, at Mount Nelson Baptist Church at 6 p.m., and the visitation will follow.

Her son, pastor Tim Sauls, and the Rev. Jimmy Dale will be officiating the service.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Rex Sauls, and a daughter, Rexine.

Frances is survived by her daughters, Linda Jones of Eureka, Judy Davenport and husband, Donald, of Pikeville and Donna Bennett and husband, Jim, of Eureka; her son, Tim Sauls, and wife, Valorie, of Nashville; her grandchildren, Wanda Singleton, David Lancaster, Susan Windham, DeeDee Daughtry, Chad Davenport, Derrick Creel, Shannon Harrison, Jessica Jefferys, Candace Whitaker and Rex Sauls; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

Flowers are welcome or donations may be made to Mount Nelson Missionary Baptist Church.

The family is in the care of Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home in Fremont.
