JUANITA B. DUNCAN

Juanita "Boots" Burns Duncan, 85, Goldsboro, passed away Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, at Countryside Living in Pikeville.

Boots was born in Durham County Feb. 20, 1930, to the late Albert and Lillie Alice Brady Burns.

She was a member of Cherrydale Bible Church in Arlington, Va.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, March 4, 2015, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service celebrating Boots' life at 2 p.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Alan Strickland officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Boots is survived by her husband of 66 years, Excell Clark Duncan; daughters, Debbie Cook of Goldsboro and Donna Smith and husband, Greg, of Lewisville; sister, Irma Hendley of Durham; five grandchildren, Erika Hawkins and husband, Jason, Rebecca Gregory and husband, Shawn, John Costigan and wife, Kristin, Joey Costigan and wife, Tina, and Janet Costigan; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Cheryl Ann Costigan.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Alzheimer's North Carolina Inc., 1305 Navaho Drive, Suite 101, Raleigh, N.C., 27609.
