RUTH ANNE MCFADDEN SHERRICK

Ruth Anne McFadden Sherrick, 75, Goldsboro, passed away Wednesday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her loving family.
Ruth was born in Jackson County, Mich., April 12, 1939, to the late Willard and Mildred Bunting McFadden.
She was a retired school teacher.
Ruth was a caring, loving parent and grandparent whose primary goal was the happiness and security of her family.
She was an active member at St. Luke United Methodist Church in Rochester Hills, Mich.
While in Goldsboro visiting with her daughter and son-in-law to get away from the snow, she enjoyed attending The Bridge Church in Princeton.
Ruth leaves behind a legacy of unconditional love and support for the people she cared about. She truly lived a life with a giving spirit. Ruth gave to others before she would ever give to herself. Her enthusiasm and charm will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, at 4 p.m. at The Bridge Church Princeton Campus, with pastor Andy Stovall officiating. A service will be held at a later date for all the friends and family in Michigan.
Ruth is survived by her faithful husband of 53 years, Peter Sherrick; daughters, Anne Kuhns and husband, Mark, of Goldsboro, and Barbara Knighton and husband, Keith, of Fowlerville, Mich.; grandchildren, Karen and Daniel McKnight, Jessica and Tim Harrison, Sandra and Jason Steed, Debra and Zachary Coleman, Rebecca Kuhns and Kiah Perry; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth McKnight, Abigail McKnight, Katherine McKnight, Kinley Steed and Stephen Steed; and sister Mary Hands of Jackson, Mich.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, John McFadden.
The family will receive friends following the service Saturday at the Bridge Church in Princeton.
Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made a charity of your choice.
