Georgia Hinnant Crumpler, 87, Pikeville, passed away Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.

Georgia was born in Wayne County Jan. 2, 1928, to the late Kelly and Lela Goodman Hinnant.

She was married to the late Larry Joseph Crumpler, who preceded her in death Feb. 17, 2000.

Georgia retired from Belk.

Her life was filled with humility, kindness and a love for others that she displayed in many ways. Georgia dedicated her life to caring for her family, especially her husband and a special family member, Odell Goodman, and to serving her Lord.

She was a member of Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church, where she served on the ladies auxiliary for many years.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at Pleasant Grove Free Will Baptist Church, followed by a service at 11 a.m. in the sanctuary, with pastor Barry Stallings and pastor Freddie Pierce officiating. Interment will be at a later date because of wet conditions at Pike Cemetery.

Georgia is survived by her daughter, Tonya Smith and husband, Eddie, of Goldsboro; son, the Rev. Joe Crumpler and wife, Cathy, of Mount Olive; and a granddaughter, Sarah Crumpler.
