ALBERTSON -- Ernest Herman "E.H." Sutton, 75, resident of the Pleasant Grove community, passed away Saturday night, February 14, 2015.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 18, at Tyndall Funeral Home with Bishop Jimmy Whitfield and the Rev. Jonathan Aultman officiating. Burial will follow in Maplewood Cemetery, Mount Olive, and will include full military honors. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 17.

E.H. was retired from the United States Air Force with over 20 years of service including a service tour in Vietnam. After his military career, he was employed with Kemp Furniture in Goldsboro, followed by Calypso Panel Company. Reared in Thunder Swamp Pentecostal Holiness Church, after his marriage, he joined his wife in uniting with Alum Springs Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Rouse Sutton, of the home; a son, Ernest Herman "Ernie" Sutton II, of the Pleasant Grove community; a granddaughter, Jennifer Nichole Sutton of Goldsboro; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Tommy and Mary Linda Sutton of Mount Olive and Harrell and Lois Thigpen of Kinston; other sisters-in-law, Mabel P. Sutton of Mount Olive, Cathy P. Rouse and Jo Anne R. Herring and husband, Thurman, all of the Pleasant Grove community; a special friend whose presence made a huge impact upon E.H. over the last few months, Deanna Grady of Goldsboro, as she came into Ernie's life; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest G. and Maebelle Westbrook Sutton; two sisters, Athelene S. Thigpen and Elizabeth S. Mitchell; and brothers, Claxton, Carlton, Earl, Kirby and Wilbur Sutton.
