Phillip Anthony Edwards, 59, Smithfield, died Thursday morning in Johnston Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 19, 1955, in Wayne County to Melvin Ray Edwards and the late Mary Evelyn Rains Edwards.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday in the chapel of Parrish Funeral Home.
A burial with military honors will be in the Princeton Cemetery.
He is survived by his wife, Marian Harris Edwards, and one daughter.
