Milton Adron Goodman, 81, of the Baker's Chapel community on the outskirts of Mount Olive, passed away late Friday evening at Kitty Askins Hospice in Goldsboro.

He is survived by his wife, Betty Elsbeth Goodman of the home; a son, Jerry Goodman and his wife, Genetta, of Faison; three daughters, Regina G. Tucker of Mount Olive, Sandra G. Swinson and her husband, Robert, of Mount Olive, and Lyndi G. Mitchell of Dudley; seven grandchildren, Adam Lee Tucker and his girlfriend, Brittany Lee, Jessica Leigh Swinson, Gretchen Strickland and her husband, Allen, Brooke S. Lampron, Natalie Nicole Goodman, Nathan Mitchell and Lyndsi Bella Mitchell.

Milton is also survived by two sisters; Janice G. Pate and her husband, Donald, of Mount Olive, and Marilyn G. Carter and her husband, Reggie, of Mount Olive; four sisters-in-law, Sue B. Goodman, Virginia Goodman, Louvene Goodman and Jeanette Goodman.

Milton was preceded in death by his parents, Foye Lee and Nettie Brown Goodman; five brothers, Joe Goodman, Jimmy Goodman, Foye "Tink" Goodman, Bob Goodman and George Goodman; two sisters, Ann G. Green and Florene G. Watson; and a granddaughter, Kara Alexis Goodman.

Services to celebrate Milton's life will be held on Monday, Feb. 16, 2015, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Tyndall Funeral Home, with the Rev. Paul Rose officiating. Burial will follow in the Goodman Family Cemetery, which is located at Rooty Branch Free Will Baptist Church. The family will receive friends this evening at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. and at other times at the Goodman residence on Baker's Chapel Road.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Rooty Branch Free Will Baptist Church, c/o Greg Rouse, 4777 Liddell Road, Seven Springs, NC 28578 or to the University of Mount Olive.
