LEERENE L. LANE

Nov. 11, 1925-Feb. 12, 2015

Leerene L. Lane, 89, Goldsboro, passed away peacefully on Thursday, Feb. 12, 2015, at her home after a period of declining health.

Leerene was born in Johnston County on Nov. 11, 1925, to the late Barney W. and Sophie Pittman Lane.

For many years, Leerene owned and operated the Fast Lane Convenient Store on Highway 117 South.

She was a hard-working woman, which was the theme of her life; she lived to work.

Leerene was the kind of woman who was loyal to her family, who took great pride in caring and providing for them.

She was the kindest and most loving mother and grandmother and a great friend to everyone.

Leerene will be missed by all who were blessed enough to know her.

A service celebrating Leerene's life will be held on Saturday, Feb. 14, 2015, at 3 p.m. in Willowdale Cemetery with the Rev. Barry House officiating.

The family will greet friends on Friday, Feb. 13, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home.

Leerene is survived by her children, Shirley Williams, John Lane and wife, Faye, and Ricky Lane and wife, Sarah, all of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Roni Ganoe, Heather Coley, Jennifer Player, Matt Lane, Vince Lane, Amanda Bonds, Vann Lane and Robin Lewis; and six great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sons and four grandchildren.

The family would like to extend a special appreciation to Joyce Tooley, Sybil Hartley and Robin Lewis who provided loving care to Leerene, allowing her to spend her final months at home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be given to Liberty Pentecostal Holiness Church, 206 Country Day Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
