ROBERT "BOB" JERRELL MALPASS

Robert Jerrell Malpass, 85, Goldsboro, passed away Tuesday afternoon at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Wayne County, N.C., Jan. 29, 1929, to the late Robert Bruce and Reba Gates Malpass.
He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Carol Geist Malpass.
Bob was a member of First Baptist Church.
He also served his country in the United States Army.
In addition to his wife, Bob is survived by four sons, Bruce Malpass and wife, Lynda, of Goldsboro, Mike Malpass and wife, Lillian, of Bethlehem, Ga., Paul Malpass and partner, Mark Hensley, of Raleigh and John Malpass of Manchester, England; sisters, Peggy Malpass Culbreth of Davidson, N.C., and Judy Malpass May of Raleigh; grandchildren, Bert Malpass and wife, Allison, and Cam Malpass; great-grandchildren, Anna Malpass and Molly Malpass; and a special niece, Cathy Blair of Lincoln, Neb.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, James Bruce Malpass.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, from 1 to 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church, followed by a service celebrating Bob's life at 2 p.m. in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church, with Dr. Glenn Phillips officiating. A private interment for the family will follow at Willow Dale Cemetery.
Flowers are welcome or the family suggests memorials be made to a charity of your choice in Bob's honor.
