Hazel P. Exum, 74, 7608 Forest Hill Ave., Richmond, Va., formerly of Wayne County, departed this earthly life and went home to be with the Lord.
A celebration of her life will be held 11 p.m. St. James United Holy Church, 100 N. Main St., Stantonsburg. Apostle Edwin D. Newsome will deliver the eulogy, with Bishop Howard Artis presiding. Interment will follow at Old Mill Cemetery, Central Heights Road, Goldsboro.
Loving memories are forever cherished by three sons, William I. Exum, Jr. (Mary Ann) of Goldsboro, Dell Exum (Denise) of Fayetteville, N.C., and Daren "Roy" Exum (Tonza) of Richmond, Va.; seven grandchildren, Marie Fretina Exum of Oklahoma, Capt. Dell Robinson Sr. of San Diego, Calif., Marisa Robinson, Simone Robinson and Devar Robinson, all of Lindenwold, N.J., and Morgan Exaum and Melanie Exum of Goldsboro; eight great-grandchildren, Trevor Exum, Temarion Exum and Tezavion Exum, all of Oklahoma, and Jacob Robinson, Brayden Robinson, Dell Lamont Robinson Jr., Timothy Martin Robinson and Hazel Theresa Robinson, all of San Diego, Calif.; three brothers, J.D. Newsome of Wilson, Edwin D. Newsome (Sylvestene) of Fayetteville, N.C., and Willie C. Newsome (Bettie) of Goldsboro; two sisters, Aronual N. Diggs (Bobby) of Wilson and Corine Breland of Brooklyn, N.Y.; five sisters-in-law, Beatrice Newsome of Pikeville, Evelyn Knight of Laurel, Md., Thelma Exum of Philadelphia, Pa., Sylvia McEachin (Robert) of Richmond, Va., and Cynthia Kelly (Milas) of Goldsboro; two aunts, Avris A. White and Maggie A. Diamond, both of Wilson; an uncle, Larry Artis (Lillie) of Goldsboro; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends, including a devoted friend, Roxanne Berger.
