KAREN MARIE FREEMAN

March 12, 1937-Aug. 31, 2014

Mrs. Karen Marie Haussmann Freeman, 77, 102 Pineview Ave., Goldsboro, died Sunday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro.

A graveside service will be held at noon Saturday at Lee Family Cemetery in Meadow. Officiating will be the Rev. Jill Beimdiek.

Mrs. Freeman was born March 12, 1937, in Arlington, Va., to the late William Max and Hannah Marie Vroom Haussmann.

Mrs. Freeman was a secretary and a homemaker..

She attended St. Stephen Episcopal Church in Goldsboro.

Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Richard Lee Freeman; children, Kenton William Freeman of Tennessee, Samantha Akers-Freeman of Goldsboro and Susanna Lee Skinner of Virginia; nine grandchildren; and brother, William Max Haussmann Jr. of Southern Pines, N.C.

The family is especially appreciative of the outstanding care provided by Mrs. Rita Houston, Wayne Memorial Hospital and Kitty Askins Hospice.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at Rose and Graham Funeral Home in Benson prior to the graveside service.
