SUE COLTRANE

Virginia "Sue" Boyette Coltrane, 84, Goldsboro, went to be with her Lord Saturday, Aug. 16, 2014, at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.

Sue was born in Wayne County Aug. 24, 1929, to the late Ben R. Boyette Sr. and Ethel Smith Boyette. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Harold Lynwood Coltrane Sr.

Sue was a charter member of New Hope United Methodist Church, and will be remembered for her commitment to her family, friends and church.

For many years, she worked as a teacher's assistant with the Wayne County Public Schools.

A service celebrating Sue's life will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Aug. 18, 2014, at New Hope United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Steve Wellman officiating. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, in Wayne Memorial Park.

Sue is survived by her sons, Harold L. "Lynny" Coltrane Jr. and wife, Sheila, of Snow Hill and Glenn Coltrane and wife, Carol, of Goldsboro; daughter, Debbie Sutton and husband, Frankie, of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Jackie Sutton, Frankie Sutton and wife, Holly, Ginni Jo Sutton, Tessa Denton and husband, Jeff, Joshua Coltrane and wife, Colleen, and Bryan Coltrane; and great-grandchildren, Britany Sutton, Franklin Sutton, Ben Miller, Anna Miller, Claire Denton, Kennedy Denton and Amelia Elizabeth Coltrane.

She is also survived by her niece and nephews, Bob Boyette, Herndon Boyette, Ray Kennedy and Marian Kennedy.

In addition to her husband and parents, Sue was preceded in death by her brother, Dr. Ben R. Boyette Jr.; her special sister-in-law, Louie Kennedy and husband, Teeny; and her niece, Elizabeth Langdon "Bitsy" Boykin.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to New Hope United Methodist Church, 200 E. New Hope Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.

The family will receive friends Monday following the service in the fellowship hall at New Hope United Methodist Church and other times at her home.
