BUSTER SASSER JR.

BUSTER SASSER JR.

March 16, 1944-Aug. 17, 2014

George Franklin "Buster" Sasser Jr., 70, Fremont, passed away early Sunday morning at his home.

Buster was born in Wayne County March 16, 1944, to the late George Franklin and Alice Geneva Edgerton Sasser.

He was a member of Union Grove Free Will Baptist Church.

A true angel, having innocence and purity of heart, Buster was a miracle and a blessing from the moment he was born. He shaped lives of family, friends and random strangers in ways that made them into better people.

Despite his own disabilities, he was always eager to help others. A quiet touch on your arm let you know he was there. His words were a constant reminder that he always thought of loved ones.

For more than 35 years, Buster participated in the work at the Wayne Opportunity Center. Though he is no longer with us in body, Buster will never leave our hearts, minds or spirits.

A service celebrating Buster's life will be held Tuesday, Aug. 19, 2014, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tom Dorman officiating. Interment will be Wednesday, Aug. 20, 2014, at 11 a.m. in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Buster is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Faye and Harry Hinson of Pinkney; nieces, Tracy Edmundson and husband, Jamie, of Fremont and Melissa Weaver and husband, Mike, of Pikeville; great-nieces, Brianna Edmundson Meadows and husband, Jay, and Amber Weaver; and great-nephews, Coleman Ray Edmundson, Derek Weaver and wife, Alaina, and Trent Weaver.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Always Compassionate Family Care, 2907 N.C. 581 North, Fremont, N.C., 27830, or the Wayne Opportunity Center, 619 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.

The family will receive friends Tuesday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at the home of Harry and Faye Hinson.

With loving gratitude, we thank the family and friends at Always Compassionate Family Care, as well as the incredible guidance, wisdom and support of Community Hospice Care.

The family would also like to express a special thank you to the staff at the Wayne Opportunity Center.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
