SARA "FAYE" HATCHER MACK

Dec. 3, 1937-Aug. 13, 2014

Mrs. Sara "Faye" Hatcher Mack, Dudley, the daughter of the late Charles Preston "Press" and Mary Greenfield Hatcher, was born in Brooklyn, N.Y., Dec. 3, 1937. She entered into eternal rest Aug. 13 surrounded by her family in the comfort of her home.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Charles, Larry and David Hatcher; and her sister, Ann Hatcher "Lola" Barnes.

Sara graduated from Carver High School class of 1955.

Over the years, she was employed by General Electric and Cherry Hospital in Goldsboro, N.C., and Dorothea Dix in Raleigh, N.C., and she retired from the Wake County Mental Health "Drop-In Center" in 2000.

She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 46 years, Abraham Mack Jr.; two daughters, Dr. Leslye Kornegay and Fonda Kornegay (Phillip); two sons, Joseph Kornegay and Ken Mack (Chantal); a grandson, Sean Kornegay; a granddaughter, Alexzandra "Ally" Mack; a sister, Muriel Mereday, three brothers; Johnny, Preston and Marvin Hatcher (Veolla); a beloved brother-in-law, Johnnie Barnes; a beloved cousin, Ruth B. Greenfield; and a host of cherished nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

The family will have a memorial celebration at J.B. Rhodes Funeral Home chapel Sunday, Aug. 17, at 2 p.m.
