Died April 30, 2014

Dalton Lee Boone, 78, passed away Wednesday, April 30, 2014, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

A native of Duplin County, he was the son of the late Daniel and Lena Norris Boone.

He served his country in the United States Army, and was a retired auto parts dealer and mechanic.

Mr. Boone was a member of Rosewood First Baptist Church.

A service to celebrate his life will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with Dr. Mike Collier officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service.

Graveside services will be Monday at 1 p.m. at Calvary Episcopal Church Cemetery in Fletcher, N.C., with the Rev. Scott Lynch officiating.

He is survived by his wife, Gloria Godwin Boone; son, Glenn Boone and wife, Dawn, of Cumming, Ga; grandchildren, Jackson and Bradley Boone; and sister, Ethel Matthews of Rose Hill.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Boone was preceded in death by his son, Danny Boone, and his brothers, Edmond, Lynwood, Herbert and Norwood Boone.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rosewood First Baptist Church, 562 N.C. 581, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530, or Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
