WILEY "CHRIS" COLUMBUS EVANS JR.

Wiley "Chris" Columbus Evans Jr. passed away Thursday morning at Kitty Askins of Goldsboro.

He was born April 18, 1939, and was the son of the late Wiley Columbus Evans Sr. and Elizabeth Overman Bissette.

Mr. Evans was a master welder, a member of Rains Crossroads Free Will Baptist Church, the first worthy patron of Princeton Chapter No. 364 OES and a past master of St. Patrick Masonic Lodge No. 617.

The funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 11, at Rains Crossroads Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Dennis Pollock officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Mr. Evans is survived by a son, Wiley C. Evans III of Pikeville; three daughters and sons-in-law, Cindy Francis and husband, Mark, of Clayton, Pam Harrelson and husband, Larry, of Mooresville and Patty Cobb and husband, Steve, of Greenville; former wife and friend, Elizabeth Evans Watson and husband-in-law, Evert; a brother, J.D. Willoughby of Savannah; Ga., two sisters, Marie Elvington of Newport News, Va., and Doris Peele of Kenly; five grandsons; and three granddaughters.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday at Rains Crossroads Free Will Baptist Church.
