WILLIAM "BILL" HAMPTON CRUMPLER

William "Bill" Hampton Crumpler, 74 passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was born in Wayne County Dec. 6, 1938, to the late Herman and Ruby Jackson Crumpler.

Bill served his country in the United States Army.

He was a farmer in the Belfast community. Bill was employed with Patetown Dixie Fertilizer Co.

He was retired from the Belfast Volunteer Fire Department, and was a past member of the Tennessee Walking Horse and Breeders Association.

Bill was a former board member of the Wayne County ASCS.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Barry Williamson and the Rev. Scott Sauls, officiating. Interment will take place Wednesday, Nov. 27, 2013, at 11 a.m. in Crumpler Cemetery with military honors.

Bill is survived by his loving wife Geneva "Genny" Potter Crumpler; daughter, Jodi C. Head and fiancé, Bryan Taylor, of Belfast; grandson, Stanton Head; sister,Barbara C. Frazier of Goldsboro; brothers, James B. Crumpler and wife, Jean, of Belfast and Herman Crumpler Jr. and wife, Gloria, of Belfast; and two stepgrandchildren, Cody and Aaron Taylor.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Pamela Jo Adams, and a grandson, Joshuriah Adams.

The family will receive friends following the service Tuesday at the funeral home, and at other times, at his home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Farm Bureau Relay For Life, 2405 N. William St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
