JERRY GENE MOODY

KINSTON -- Jerry Gene Moody, 71, Kinston, passed away Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013.
Jerry was born in Lenoir County April 16, 1942, to the late Alton and Ruby Butts Moody.
Mr. Moody was a farmer and a member of Sandy Bottom Baptist Church, and attended Bethel Free Will Baptist Church.
He will be remembered as a very loving husband, father and friend to everyone.
He was an avid race car enthusiast, and loved ball games and horseback riding. He loved being with family and friends -- always there whenever he was needed.
Survivors include his wife, Rebecca Davis Moody of the home; daughters, Haley Moody and Sandy Hardison and husband, Mike, all of Kinston and Terry Hill and husband, Garry, of Pink Hill; grandchildren, Joshua Hardison and wife, Kelly, of Winterville, Jonathan Hardison and Kayla Hardison both of Kinston and Jared Hill of Pink Hill; sisters, Peggy Edwards of Winterville and Catherine Brittain and husband, Charlie, of Dunn; brothers, Charles Moody of Pink Hill and Bruce Moody and wife, Sharon, of Kinston; and many other very special family members and friends.
In lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorials be made to Sandy Bottom Baptist Church, 4568 N.C. 55 West, Kinston, N.C., 28504, or Bethel Free Will Baptist Church, 1936 Banks School Road, Kinston, N.C., 28504.
