SALISBURY -- Wayne Earl Potts Jr., 31, Salisbury, passed away Saturday, Nov. 16, 2013, in Davie County, N.C.

He was born in Goldsboro, N.C., to Teresa Rudisill Potts Stevens and the late Wayne Earl Potts Sr., and was the loving husband of Lauren Brown Potts.

He was preceded in death by a special uncle, Henry Rudisill; paternal grandmother, Bessie Potts; and maternal grandparents, Warren and Lillie Rudisill.

He worked as a detention officer in Wayne County, N.C., and in Harnett County, N.C.

Recently, he attended Catawba College in pursuit of a bachelor's degree.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by two sisters, Miranda Potts and Wynter Potts of Goldsboro; mother and father-in-law, Donna and Mark Brown of China Grove; sister-in-law, Kristen Brown; and brother-in-law Caleb Brown also of China Grove.

A memorial service and visitation will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held at Wayne Memorial Park.
