MOUNT OLIVE -- Jacob Earl "Ike" Jenkins, 59, Indian Springs community near Mount Olive, passed away Monday morning, Oct. 7, 2013, at Vidant Duplin Hospital in Kenansville.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Cox Jenkins of Mount Olive; a son, Jordan M. Jenkins and his fiancee', Angela Best of Mount Olive; two daughters, Bonnie Flowers Roberts and her husband, William Ray, of West Virginia and Joy F. Best and her husband, Jeremy, of Mount Olive; two brothers; three sisters; three grandchildren, Lindsay Roberts, Meredith Best and Jaxson Jenkins; and a great-grandchild, Kimber Howell.
Ike was preceded in death by his parents, Jacob C. and Mary Griffin Jenkins; a granddaughter, Megan Roberts; and a sister.
A memorial service will be held at Tyndall Funeral Home Thursday, Oct. 10, at 7 p.m., with the Rev. Steven Wicks officiating.
The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home, and at other times at the home of Linda and Jim Roten, Emmaus Church Road, Mount Olive.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be directed to the Ronald McDonald House, 529 Moye Blvd., Greenville, N.C., 27834.
