Ransom Holloman Jr., 92, passed away Wednesday night at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Ransom and Florence Vaughan Holloman, husband of the late Daisy Jones Holloman and brother of the late A.B. and Daniel Holloman.

He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Betsy and Kenneth Bryant of New Canton, Va., and Bonnie and Richard Hadden of Richmond, Va.; a sister, Zillia Mae Fail of Goldsboro; five grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Post Office with 41 years of service.

A service to celebrate the life of Mr. Holloman will be Monday at 11 a.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with the Rev. Phyllis Vail officiating. Burial with military honors will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Family members will greet friends Monday from 10 to 11 a.m. at the funeral home.
