Kenneth Ray "Cuz" Jones, 69, of the Scott's Store community, died early Saturday morning, Aug. 31, at Lenoir Memorial Hospital.
Cuz was retired from Scott & Jones, where he worked from the age of 16 until he was 66. He was a member of Pleasant Grove Volunteer Fire Department and Word of Faith Church of Kenansville.
Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 2, at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, with the Rev. Maynard "Bud" Quinn officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home just after the service. Burial will be Tuesday, Sept. 3, at 11 a.m. at the Herring Family Cemetery off of Alum Springs Road, Mount Olive.
Cuz is survived by his wife, Connie Jackson Jones of the home; a son, Kenny Jones of Mount Olive; a daughter, Kenita Jones Judge of Mount Olive; a granddaughter, Haley Jones of La Grange; a brother, Elwood Jones of Mount Olive; a sister, Evelyn J. Futrell and husband, Odom, of Deep Run; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Bonnie J. Herring and husband, Ken, of Mount Olive. Kenneth is also survived by his wife's younger siblings, Janice J. McConiga and Yvonne J. Nelson, both of Kinston, Kaye J. Parker of Seven Springs, and Jerry "Ponch" Jackson of Beaufort, all of whom he and Connie helped to raise.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Garvis and Pennie Herring Jones; an infant sister; and two brothers, Royce "Tobe" Jones and Park Jones.
