PAUL B. GILLIS

Paul Britten Gillis, 83, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.
Paul was born in Montgomery County May 25, 1930, one of nine children, to the late Barney and Fannie Batten Gillis.
He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force, retiring as a chief master sergeant with more than 30 years of service.
Following his military career, Paul co-owned and operated Gillis Gutters in Goldsboro with his son, Jon.
The family will receive friends Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, from 9 to 10 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service in the chapel at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park with military honors.
Paul is survived by his wife, Hazel Smith Gillis; sons, Paul Gillis II of Atlanta, Ga., and Jon Gillis and wife, Carol, of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Jason Gillis and wife, Nicole, and Bradley Gillis; great-grandson, David Gillis; brother, Bob Gillis; and sister, Delilah McCaskill.
