WILLIAM "BILL" GREENE DAVIS

PIKEVILLE -- William "Bill" Greene Davis, 69, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 21, 2013, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.
Bill was born in Baltimore, Md., Nov. 19, 1943, to the late John D. Davis Sr. and Careen Crawford Davis.
He retired from the maintenance department at the county of Wayne.
Bill was a member of Shifter's Car Club, and served in the North Carolina National Guard.
He will be remembered by his family and friends as "Mr. Fix-it," always willing to give it a try.
Funeral services will be Friday, Aug. 23, 2013, at 7 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Tim Grant officiating. Interment will be Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013, at 11:30 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
Bill is survived by his wife, Brenda Strickland Davis; brothers, James M. "Boog" Davis of Riverside, R.I., and Douglas Davis of Jacksonville; sister, Fran Davis Thomas of Whiteville; several nieces and nephews, including a very special niece, Lisa G. Lewis and husband, Dennis Lewis; and sister-in-law, Polly S. McCall and husband, Pete.
He is also survived by his faithful companion, Asia.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, John D. Davis Jr.
The family will receive friends Friday following the service at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at his home.
