LOUIS POPE

Mr. Louis Pope was born in Wayne County to the late Preston Pope Sr. and Minnie Ray Pope, first of eight children.
He was educated in the Wayne County public schools.
He departed this life April 17, 2013.
His wife, Lillian B. Douglas; two brothers, Mack and Paul Pope; a sister, Dollie Pope; two aunts, Thelma Heckstall and Alberta White; and his parents; all preceded him in death.
Louis leaves to cherish his memory three sons, Roderick Stevens, Preston Louis Pope and David Culbreth; a daughter, Lilly Eva Pope; two brothers, Preston Pope Jr. (Carrie) and Eddie Ralph Pope (Diane); two sisters, Margaret Pope Williams (Bobby) and Minnie Pope Jones; two uncles, Edgar (Minnie Bell) and Roy Pope; an aunt, Anna Mae Summerville; special friend, Linda Flamer; a daughter-in-law, Delores Stephens; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Hamilton Funeral Chapel, 423 S. James St., with elder Judy Yelverton officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park North, Old Grantham Road.
A public will be held one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
