MARY LOU MAGILL

Aug. 17, 1937-Feb. 26, 2013

LANCASTER, Ohio -- Mary Lou Magill, 75, also know as "Baby Sister" by her family, passed away peacefully, Tuesday, Feb. 26, 2013, at Chillicothe VA Medical Center in Chillicothe, Ohio.

She was born Aug. 17, 1937, in Goldsboro to the late Paul and Eliza Walters Magill.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Betty Magill; and one brother, Paul T. Magill Jr.

She is survived by one nephew, Mark; two nieces, Mary and Madi; and several cousins.

Mary Lou served seven years, six months, and 12 days in the U.S. Navy with an honorable discharge.

For the last 14 years, she resided at Muirwood Apartments, Lancaster, Ohio, where she had many, many friends. In 2004, she was nominated for the Jefferson Award and was one of the finalists for this prestigious award for public service. She declined the award to avoid the limelight.

She was a good friend and neighbor to all who knew her. When she saw a need, she seized the moment to meet it. Doing the "little things" for others were "big things" to them.

Caring Cremation will be through Frank E. Smith Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be made to Whiskers Animal Welfare, P.O. Box 127, Lancaster, Ohio 43130 in Mary Lou's memory.
