GEORGE 'STONEY G' LOFTON

Feb. 20, 1956-March 1, 2013

George "Stoney G" Lofton was born Feb. 20, 1956 to Lillie Mae Lofton and the late George Lester Lofton. He departed his earthly life on Friday, March 1, 2013.

George attend Wayne County Public Schools. He graduated from Southern Wayne High School, Class of 1974.

George served in the U.S. Army for 15 years. Upon his honorable discharge from the Army, he worked for AAFES Giessen Distribution Center in Europe for a couple of years. He then moved back home to Goldsboro and worked at O'Berry Center as a health care technician.

He is preceded in death by his father, George Lester Lofton, and his sister, JoAnn Lofton Joyner.

He leaves to cherish his loving memories his mother, Lillie Mae Lofton of Goldsboro; his ex-wife, Karin Lofton of Germany; three daughters, Tenika Nicole Lofton (Maurice) Harris of Germany, Natascha Shantay Lofton of Germany, Melanie Morrison (Brian) Aites of California; one son, Shaun Garth of Germany; three grandchildren, Destiny Maria Harris of Germany, and Christopher Aites and Caden Aites, both of California; one sister, Wanda (Jonathan) Hicks of Raleigh; four brothers, Larry Lofton, Kermit (Lillie) Lofton, Ricky Lofton, all of Goldsboro, and Earl (Deanie) Lofton of Kenly; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Greenleaf Christian Disciples Church. Interment will immediately follow services at Carver Memorial Park in Mount Olive.

Arrangements being handled by E.M. Matthews Funeral Home.
