LATHA SEYMOUR JONES

MOUNT OLIVE -- Latha Seymour Jones, 86, went to be with her heavenly father and her beloved husband, J.A., Tuesday morning, Sept. 11, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 12, at Tyndall Funeral Home, with the Rev. Howard Seymour and the Rev. Billy Britt officiating.
Visitation will immediately follow the service at the funeral home, and at other times the family will be at the home of Barbara and Terry Hollaman, Dean Street.
Burial will be held Thursday, Sept. 13, at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park.
A native of Wayne County, she was born Aug. 23, 1926, and was the daughter of the late Albert Seymour and Viola Cotton Seymour.
Her joys included raising and loving her family and beautifying her yard with a variety of flowers over the years.
She had a great love for God's creatures, especially birds, and her precious dog, Hootie Jr. Mrs. Jones was also a talented seamstress, providing beautiful clothing for family and friends.
She is survived by her children, Barbara J. Holloman and husband, Terry, of Mount Olive, Nancy J. Rea and husband, John, of Snow Hill, Beverly J. Holliday and husband, Tim, of Thomasville, Robert "Robbie" Jones of the home, and his special friend, Vicki Buffkin of Chadbourn, and Scott Jones and his wife, Heather, of Goldsboro.
She was a loving grandmother to Lindsay H. Blackwell and her husband, Blake, and Kelly and Dillon Holliday.
Mrs. Jones was recently blessed with the addition of two precious babies in her family, grandson, Alex Jones, and great-granddaughter, Aspen Blackwell.
Mrs. Jones is also survived by a sister, Viola Britt and husband, the Rev. Billy Britt, of Greensboro, Iola Barrow of Goldsboro and Faye Seymour of Mount Olive; a brother, the Rev. Howard Spurgeon and wife, Connie, of Goldsboro; and a siser-in-law, Donna Seymour.
Along with her parents and beloved husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles Seymour and Ralph Seymour.
The Jones family wishes to express its greatest appreciation to Dr. James Lambert and his staff for the care and love given to its mother and grandmother, and for the many acts of kindness from her neighbors, friends and family. A special "thank you" to Gail Worrell, Pam Ham, Carolyn Brown, Katrina Newsome, Edna Grady and Patty Brock for the compassionate and loving care they extended to Mrs. Jones while she was at home.
A deep appreciation for the kindness and love shown to the family's loved one is also extended to the staff of Mount Olive Care and Rehabilitation Center, and to her special friend, Jessica.
