Ralph Everette Jinnette, 90, passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his family.

Ralph was born in Wayne County Sept. 12, 1921, to the late John A. Jinnette and Hortense Rose Jinnette.

He served his country in the United States Army Air Corps during World War II.

Ralph owned and operated W.P. Rose Supply Co. in Goldsboro for many years before his retirement.

He was an active member of Providence United Methodist Church, where he served in various leadership roles.

Ralph was also a charter member of Golden K Kiwanis Club.

Memorial services will be held Thursday, March 15, 2012, at 3 p.m. at Providence United Methodist Church, with pastor Terry Hobbs officiating. A private entombment will be Friday in the church columbarium.

Ralph is survived by his wife of 65 years, Pauline Sutton Jinnette; his daughter, Linda J. Cooper of Goldsboro; his son, Larry Jinnette and wife, Marsha, of Goldsboro; his son-in-law, Gene Irvin of Concord; seven grandchildren, Jinnette Irvin Clay and husband, Todd, John Irvin and wife, Melanie, Elizabeth Irvin, Paula Cooper Rendleman and fiancé, Chris Lineberry, Thomas Cooper and wife, NikiLeigh, Rebecca Jinnette and Russell Jinnette; and his great-grandchildchildren, Jessica Grey Rendleman, Landon Lineberry, Reilly Irvin and Cole Everette Jinnette.

He is also survived by his sister, Doris Jinnette Herring and husband, Donald, of Goldsboro, and a brother-in-law, L.A. Sutton of Benson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Deana J. Irvin; his son-in-law, Thomas Collins Cooper Jr.; and his sister, Anna Jinnette Vaughan.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Ralph Jinnette Memorial Fund, c/o Brenda and Kenneth Cox at 254 Providence Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.

The family will receive friends following the service in the church fellowship hall, and other times at his home.
