GRANTHAM -- Daniel James Andrews, 89, resident of 3817 U.S. 13 South, Goldsboro, in the Grantham community, a United States Army veteran of World War II, retired mechanic and member of Riverside Free Will Baptist Church, passed away Monday night, March 12, 2012.

Services will be Thursday, March 15, at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, offiiciated by the Rev. James Campbell and the Rev. Vance Harrell, after which the family will receive friends. Committal and interment will be at 3 p.m. Friday, March 16, in Maplewood Cemetery, Mount Olive.

Mr. Andrews was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Kennedy; his parents, Luther Henry Andrews and Rosa Lee Morgan Andrews Precise; sister, Annie Laura Driver; and brothers, Joseph Thomas Precise, William R. Precise and James A. Precise.

He is survived by his wife of 69 years, Ruth Holloman Andrews; three daughters, Judy Griebenow of Smithfield, Gloria Henderson and husband, Warren, of Goldsboro and Donna Albertson and husband, Robert, of Goldsboro; three sisters, Edna Carr, Hazel Tyndall and Susie McGee Stone all of Clinton; 13 grandchildren, Glenn Kennedy Jr., Melvin Andrews III, Kim Andrews, Shon Andrews, Ruth Ann Byrd, Frankie Griebenow, Baker Henderson, Celeste Henderson Walker and husband, Jimmy, Robert Albertson Jr., Leigh Albertson Talton and husband, John, Dennis James Albertson and wife, Tiffany, Kelly Albertson Dixon and husband, David, and Michael Albertson; numerous great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
