PHILIP G. BARRY

Philip Gerard Barry, 81, passed away Thursday, March 1, 2012, at the VA Medical Center in Fayetteville.
Philip was born in Liverpool, England, Oct. 16, 1930, to the late John Barry and Elsie Pennington Barry.
He was retired from the United States Air Force.
Philip was a member of the Civitan Club, where he served as vice president in 1980-1981, and was Civitan of The Year in 1980 and 1981.
He was in charge of the Retiree Activities Office at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base, where he was named Volunteer of The Year from 1996-1998 and received the Outstanding Service Award from 1996-1998.
Philip owned and operated Barry's Garden and Equipment Shop.
Philip is survived by his wife, Barbara Tomin Barry; his daughter, Patricia A. Barry of Raleigh; and his sons, Kevin Philip Barry of Goldsboro and Douglas John Barry of Florida. He is also survived by his brother, Steve Barry of Canada.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Maureen Barry.
