WILLIAM CURTIS GILLIAM

Mr. William Curtis Gilliam was born Feb. 15, 1939, to Elena Gilliam and Gus Gilliam of Bertie County.

He was one of four children.

He attended Bertie County schools until the age of 11.

He loved gospel music, Aretha Franklin and watching shows about fishing.

He departed this life Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011, at O'Berry Center in Goldsboro.

He will be missed by all his friends on the 4-2.

A visitation will be held Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, from 3 to 5 p.m. at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home.

A service of remembrance will be held Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2012, at 5 p.m. at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home's Life Celebration Chapel, 401 N. William St., Goldsboro.

Mr. Gilliam's earthen vessel is peacefully resting at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home, where the connected families are receiving prestigious service.
