MARGARET H. GRADY

Margaret Herring Grady, 85, passed away on Sunday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.

Margaret was born in Wayne County on Dec. 13, 1926, to the late Van Buren and Anna Bell Grant Herring. She was married to the late Doyle A. Grady. Margaret was appointed to serve on the Rest Home Advisory Committee by Sen. John Kerr and served her community for many years. She was a founding member of Trinity Missionary Baptist Church. Margaret's primary goal was the happiness and security of her family. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mama, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to so many.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Jan. 3, 2012, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home with Rev. Johnny Sasser officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Margaret is survived by her children, Sylvia Grady, David Grady and wife, Sherry, Kathy Henderson and husband, David, Donald Grady and wife, Robin, and Joe Grady and special friend, Terri Killette, all of Goldsboro; her sister, Sallie Strickland of Goldsboro; 18 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Edna McDougald, and her special niece, Jeanette Moore.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Trinity Missionary Baptist Church, Highway 111 South, Goldsboro, NC 27530 or to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, NC 27534.

The family will receive friends today from 7-9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and other times at her home.
