FAISON -- Roland M. "Bob" Britt Jr., 81, Winnifred Street, Faison, died Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2011.
The family will receive friends at the Faison Baptist Church Saturday, Dec. 31, beginning at 10 a.m., with the funeral following at 11 a.m. Burial with military honors will take place in Faison Cemetery. The Rev. J. Paul Rose will officiate.
Mr. Britt was a native of Sampson County.
He was retired from the United States Army and, with his late father and brother, had also enjoyed a career in carpentry.
He was a member and past deacon of Faison Baptist Church, where he was a member of the Men's Sunday school class and the Church Brotherhood Fellowship.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Helen Evans Little Britt of the home; a stepdaughter, Ladeane Little and her special friend, Leonard Cherry, of Faison; a daughter, Barbara Tull of Naples, Fla.; two grandchildren; a sister, Sue Britt of Clinton; a sister-in-law, Jimmie Evans of Dallas, Texas; and a dear family friend, Lucy Brinson of Warsaw.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Moore Britt; his father, Roland M. Britt Sr.; his stepmother, Lillian Britt; and his brother, Jack Britt.
