LOLA HARDY SASSER

MOUNT OLIVE -- Lola Hardy Sasser, 90, passed away Christmas morning at Mount Olive Care and Rehabilitation Center, where she had resided for the past several years.

A native of the Liddell section of Lenoir County, and the daughter of the late William Hederick Hardy and Smithy Barwick Hardy, she was the wife of the late Raymond Sasser, and was a longtime resident of Indian Springs community in Wayne County.

She was a member of Indian Springs Original Free Will Baptist Church.

Services will be held Friday, Dec. 30, at 3 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, with the Rev. Bob Fussell officiating. Burial will be in Pineview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home during the hour before the service.

Mrs. Sasser is survived by two sons and their wives, Gene and Susie Sasser of Mount Olive and Robert and Theresa Sasser of Warsaw; three daughters and their husbands, Violet and Kermit Goodson of Mount Olive, Linda and Russell Kearney of Goldsboro and Brenda and Ted Bazemore of Goldsboro; nine grandchildren, Crystal Goodson Brock, William Eugene Sasser Jr. (commander in the United States Coast Guard), Dr. Angela Marie Kearney, Russell Chad Kearney, Chris Sasser, Michael Sasser, Matthew Sasser, Paige Bazemore Herring and Vanessa Heath; 12 great-grandchildren; and many loving nieces and nephews.
