MOUNT OLIVE -- Marjorie Godwin Taylor, 85, died early Wednesday morning.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive.

The family will receive friends at the home of Jean Holmes Horne, a niece with whom she lived, at 404 Beautancus Road, Mount Olive.

Much of Mrs. Taylor's life was spent being a caregiver for the elderly, infirmed and young alike. Prior to that calling, she was a secretary/bookkeeper with Mann's Potato Chip Co. in Maryland.

Surviving her are a son, Raymond Thomas Taylor of Rockville, Md.; a grandson, Jason Taylor and wife, Sarah, of Richmond, Va.; three great-grandchildren, Michael, Micala and Katy Taylor; a brother, Stephen Godwin of Wilmington; five sisters, Mildred Anderson and husband, Rudolph, of Dudley, Linda Turner and Helen Williams of Goldsboro and Janet Crouse and Sue Carrier both of Florida; and numerous nephews and nieces, including nieces, Jean Holmes Horne, Louise Ivey, Beverly Carlisle, and Brenda Ivey, who were her primary caregivers as her health declined.
