Ms. Ina T. McClarin, 82, Goldsboro, entered into rest Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Ms. McClarin was born to the late James Allen and Minnie Bell Sauls May 29, 1929, in Greene County.

She joined Invitation AME Zion Church at an early age. She was a dedicated member until her health failed. She served on the ushers board, stewardess board No. 1 and lifetime member of missionary.

Ms. McClarin was a soft-spoken, meek, lovable person. Her demeanor never changed. She always wore a smile and never spoke a harsh word to anyone. She was a loving mother to six children.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, James Taylor of Dudley, Edward (Arlene) Taylor of Dudley, Janice (Gilbert) Owens of Goldsboro, Jacob (Beatrice) Taylor of Wilson, Velma (Anthony) Baldwin of Goldsboro and Ida (Raymond) Holland of Crestview, Fla.; an adopted daughter, Jazqueline Summerville; 13 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; special friends, Ms. Esther Mae Parker and Ms. Sandra Melvin; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 5, 2011, from 3 to 6 p.m. at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home.

A service of remembrance will be held Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011, at 3 p.m. at Invitation AME Zion Church at 1356 Griffin Road, Snow Hill. Following the services in the sanctuary, Ms. McClarin's delicate temple, along with her adored family, will be escorted to Baldwin Family Cemetery in Goldsboro for interment rites.

Ms. McClarin's earthen vessel is peacefully resting at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home, where the McClarin and connected families are receiving prestigious service.
