WISDOM SAMUEL

Wisdom Samuel was born Sept. 14, 1935, to James M. Samuel and Beulah Samuel in Charlotte.
He attended West Charlotte High School.
Wisdom was a member of First Mount Calvary Baptist Church in Charlotte.
Wisdom later moved to Norristown, Pa., in 1956, where he met Betty Jean Davis in the late 1960s. To this union five children were born.
Wisdom was preceded in death by his parents, James M. and Beulah M. Samuel, and seven brothers, Edrice, Mordicai, Daniel Sr., Lott, William J.B. Parks, James M. Samuel, John Samuel and Luke Samuel.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories the love of his life, Betty Jean Davis; four sons, Darnell (Celestine) Davis of Goldsboro, Sgt. David (Cassandra) Samuel of Victorville, Calif., Bobby (Judy) Samuel of Goldsboro and Guilford W. (Charlene) Samuel of Goldsboro; a daughter, Wennona J. (Ralph) Newsome of Goldsboro; 19 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Sunday, Nov. 5, 2011, at 5 p.m. in the E. M. Matthews Life Celebration Chapel at 401 N. William St., Goldsboro.
Mr. Samuel's earthen vessel is peacefully resting at E.M. Matthews Funeral Home, where the Samuel and connected families are receiving prestigious service.
