WILSON -- Mary Magdalene Sykes Whaley, 84, formerly of Crescent Garden, died Tuesday, Oct. 18, 2011.
Graveside services will be conducted at Evergreen Memorial Park Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, at 3:30 p.m., with the Rev. Thomas Carrol Bradbury officiating.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Ernest Whaley; sisters, Letha Speight and Thelma Bradbury; and brothers, John William, Chester and Joseph Sykes.
She is survived by her daughter, Kay W. Barnes and husband, Wayne, of Goldsboro; her son, William Donald "Bill" Whaley and wife, Beverly, of Wilson; two sisters, Eula Mae Blizzard Croaker of Suffolk, Va., and Mildred Lamm of Wilson; five grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at Shingleton Funeral Home Thursday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m.
