JOHN T. JERNIGAN

John Thomas "Tommy" Jernigan, 67, passed away Wednesday, Oct. 19, 2011, at Durham VA Hospital.
John was born in Wayne County Oct. 31, 1943, to the late Woodrow J. Jernigan and Bessie Wheeler Jernigan Robinson.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, Oct. 22, 2011, at 2 p.m. at Pineview Cemetery, with the Rev. A.G. Smith officiating.
John is survived by his wife, Linda Goff Jernigan of the home; daughter, Amber Howard Jernigan of the home; his sons, John Jernigan and special friend, Sandra Thornton, of Kentucky and George Jernigan and wife, Dawn, of Morehead City; his daughters, Cindy Wilburn and husband, Ronnie, and children of Rock Hill, S.C., Kimberly Dawn and special friend, Larry Mills, of Goldsboro, Tommie Ann Tomlinson and husband, John, of Morehead City and Melinda Jernigan and special friend, Jamie Lee Enriquez, of Morehead City; his sisters, Margaret Best and husband, Danny, of Goldsboro and Hilda Chase of Goldsboro; 12 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Harold F. Jernigan.
The family will receive friends Friday, Oct. 21, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and other times at his home, 112 Marlette Drive, Goldsboro.
