FRANCES J. TAYLOR

Frances Johnson Taylor, 86, went to be with her Lord Monday, Oct. 3, 2011, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.

Frances was born in Wayne County Oct. 14, 1924, to the late Charles C. Johnson and Jennie Pearl Davis Johnson. She was married to the late John Taylor.

Frances was a devoted nursing assistant at Wayne Memorial Hospital for 13 years.

Frances' primary goal was the happiness and security of her family, and she was affectionately known as "Mammy" by all of them. She will be remembered as a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.

Frances always enjoyed visiting with her family and friends.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011, at 7 p.m. at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, with the Rev. Gerald Holloman, the Rev. Byron Murray and the Rev. Bill Rose officiating. Interment will be Wednesday, Oct. 5, 2011, at noon in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Frances is survived by her daughters, Betsy Vinson and husband, Raymond, and Toni Brown and Keith of Goldsboro; her son, Terry C. Vanderburg and wife, Pauline, of Goldsboro; 11 grandchildren, Gene Lancaster and wife, Lynn, Ken Lancaster and wife, Lisa, John Lancaster and Angela, Andrew Lancaster, Paula Aycock and husband, Russell, Dori Turnage and husband, Ben, Leslie Vinson and wife, Pam, Dave Vinson, Michelle Darden, Noelle Woods and husband, Rob and David Brown; 17 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Mary and Chick Lancaster; a sister; two brothers; and a great-grandchild.

With loving gratitude, the family would like to express a special thanks to the doctors and caregivers who showed her love through the years, especially those at Kitty Askins Hospice Center. You made her days on this earth very meaningful, and she enjoyed the attention you shared with her each day.

The family will receive friends following the funeral service at The First Pentecostal Holiness Church, and other times at the home of Noelle and Rob Woods, 103 Britmorlan Drive, Pikeville.
